Miriam Torres

Miriam is a Chicana-Indigenous mother of 5 and grandmother of 2, a birthworker and student midwife, they support people through the ceremony of birth, postpartum and beyond. Currently residing on unceded Tongva Land, also known as Los Angeles, California, Miriam brings her personal experience, academic understandings and traditional practices to support the community. Miriam is a Reiki practitioner, a budding herbalist, tender of the land, and a feather keeper, working in respectful relation with the sacred elements around us all.
As a student Midwife, Miriam created and runs a lending library for student midwives of color within the state of California. She is a standing member of the Birthworkers of Color Long Beach Collective.
